Oppo Adds R1C And Mirror 3 To Their Arsenal

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker has come up with two impressive phones i.e the Oppo Mirror 3 & Oppo R1C for the low-mid & mid range segments. We all know that Chinese smartphone manufacturers have seen a fair share of fans. But perhaps, Oppo is trying to retain its position in this race with these phones.

Expanding on its R1 series, Oppo launched the Oppo R1C. The Oppo R1C is supposed to be an enhanced version over the Oppo R1S with some impressive features added. Starting its shipping from 20th January, R1C is priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately INR 25,000) in China. Its availability anywhere else is still undisclosed. But users can pre-order it from Oppo’s online store.

Oppo R1C is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor running at 1.5GHz along with a 2GB RAM. Just like the R1S, the new R1C also sports a 5-inch HD screen, 13MP rear camera, 5MP secondary camera and total internal storage of 16GB. It is enabled to support the external memory up to 128GB. When compared to R1S, the new Oppo R1C sports advancements on the rear camera with the usage of a SONY IMX214 sensor and providing it with an f/2.0 aperture lens. Unlike R1S, the dual-SIM supporting R1C is also enabled to support 4G LTE. Oppo R1C has a battery capacity of 2420mAh. Layered on top of KitKat 4.4, the Oppo R1C is run by ColorOS 2.0.1 which is Oppo’s own user interface.

oppo_r1c_aAmongst the most noticeable features of the device is the display screen being covered by Sapphire glass. This is intended to provide extra protection to the screen against scratches and other physical damages. Oppo touts about the R1C to be the world’s slimmest smartphone with 4X Optical Zoom feature.

Soon after the launch of R1C, the Chinese firm Oppo announced the Oppo Mirror 3. The Oppo Mirror 3 is said to target the low-mid range of the smartphone segment. The company has launched it in Vietnam and it’s priced for VND 5,990,000 (i.e INR 17,000). There is no news on the launch of it in the other markets.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Oppo Mirror 3 has a 4.7-inch IPS display which is of HD screen resolution and offering pixel density of 312ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC, with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU. The processor is paired with a 1GB RAM.

Oppo Mirror 3 is a dual-SIM supporting device. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Oppo’s ColorOS 2.0.1 UI on the top. The rear camera is of 8MP with Sony IMX179 CMOS image sensor. It is also equipped with flash and a f/2.0 lens aperture which is impressive. The front-facing camera is of 5MP. Internal storage capacity is designed to provide 8GB of space but users can have an external storage upto 128GB. Connectivity features read as Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM, micro-USB and other usuals.

Battery capacity for the device is 2000mAh. Oppo claims the battery to be charged to 60 percent of its capacity in 90 minutes of time using the 5V-2A charger which comes along with the unit.
Talking about the looks, Oppo Mirror 3 looks like it took inspirations from the Oppo R5, but only to be more bulky. It has a glossy plastic back which is available in two colours – Black and White.

Overall the Oppo Mirror 3 is a smartphone with decent specifications promised for the price it has been put up. But Indians may need to wait a little longer to get their hands on it.
