Sony Ericsson’s Zeus 1 PlayStation Phone Appears On Video

So far seen only in leaked, blurry images and a extremely poor quality video, the Zeus 1, Sony’s PlayStation phone always had a big question mark hovering over its existence. To rest all the doubts and speculations as to whether a PlayStation phone is certainly coming soon, here are two videos that will prove beyond doubt that this phone does exist – at least in a prototype form.

The first video shows in detail the physical dimensions of the device. You will notice how thick the device is compared to potential competitors like the iPhone. But then, hardcore PlayStation freaks might not be worried about that bit. The Phone is shown running Android GingerBread. It shares its looks with the existing Xperia range.

Here’s the Link to the first video:

In the shorter second video, the all important “PlayStation” icon is pressed.

We had reported earlier about the possibility of the Zeus 1 being launched on December 9 – thanks to the invite sent by Sony Ericsson which describes the event to be the “most anticipated presentation of the decade”.

  • Looks very much like the PlayStation Go. But did they have to go for Android? This is going to have two parallel portable gaming environments in Sony – the PSP one and the Android one. Or will this have no access to the App Market, like the Nook? Very interesting. Sony Ericsson needs a winner, but it also needs to beat the iPhone/iPod touch combo on the mobile gaming front.
