Vivo To Setup Manufacturing Unit In Noida

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo Global has planned to start a manufacturing plant in Greater Noida. The company introduced its first smartphone in India in December, last year. The manufacturing plant in Greater Noida includes an investment of Rs. 12.5 crore and the project is expected to be started by October this year.

Also, Vivo Global is one of the best smartphone manufacturers in China. The Vivo has decided to build a mobile unit in Greater Noida and the officials expect the unit to be started as soon as October 2015. Vivo, though famous in China introduced its first smartphone in the Indian market last year. The company has set high aims for their user base in India, they are aiming to sell around two million handsets by the end of this year.

The Chinese firm’s market is to accompany 4G LTE devices that count for 40 per cent of the sales. According to the reports, the manufacturing unit will be established in 30,000 square metres of land in Noida. The investment is expected to be Rs. 12.5 crores by December.

The company goes by the tagline, “The Smart Phones Made Just for You and Your Indulgences”. Vivo is in mobile developing and market field and according to customers, their devices are Hi-Fi with high quality products and services.

Alex Feng, CEO of Vivo India and chief marketing officer of Vivo Global said, “We are pleased to enter the Indian market. Assembly will start in our India facility in October this year. Looking at the growth prospects, we plan to start research and manufacturing at a later stage.”

India is gaining popularity among the domestic and international mobile companies. Manufacturers like Micromax, Lava, Xiaomi and Asus have shown interest in setting up manufacturing units in India. The government is also trying its best to woo the companies by offering various incentives like capital subsidy and tax benefits on setting up local manufacturing in the country. At present, China and India are the two biggest markets for all the smartphone companies.
