Xiaomi’s Mi 4i Sells Out In Seconds During First Sale

Xiaomi’s newly launched Mi 4i sold out within seconds of its first sale on Flipkart today. Reports suggest that 40000 units were put on sale. The Mi 4i was launched in India at an event in New Delhi last week. Xiaomi also invited Mi fans to be a part of it. The phone is a toned down version of the Mi4. Many found it to be similar to what Apple did with the 5c. It has a 5-inch screen with a 1080p display so this gives a good pixel density of 441 PPI. The device runs on a Snapdragon 615 chip and is packed with 2GB of RAM. Besides the YU Yureka by Micromax, this is the only other device under Rs. 20,000 to run on a Snapdragon 615 chip.

In terms of camera, it has a 13 Megapixel sensor on the back and a 5 Megapixel one on the front. The device is powered by a 3120 mAh battery which we think would easily last a day. Xiaomi ships the device with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) which has an MIUI 6 skin running over it. As of now the phone only has a 16GB model while the Mi4 has 16GB and 64GB variants. Besides the standard black and white colors options, the phone is also has a blue, pink and yellow colour variants.

The phone offers great value for money. In fact, it makes the similarly priced Moto G 2nd Gen look outdated. Lenovo which is slowing becoming Xiaomi’s biggest rival too doesn’t have a device a device that can match the Mi 4i. The registrations for the next sale have already begun and the sale will be held on 7th May, 2015. The only issue with the device is that it’s tough to get your hands on it. It sells out within seconds of each sale as the number of units that go on sale are much lesser than the demand for it. So if you’re in a hurry to buy a device then for the same price you could buy the Moto G 2nd Gen.
