The buzz in the gaming market over the past few years has been about next-generation consoles, high-definition games, and motion-sensitive controllers. However, in the market itself, the decade old PlayStation 2 (PS2) shows no sign of fading into the sunset. And this was proved when EA’s annual release (well, it has become an annual event now) of the FIFA series of football games included a PS2 version, alongside those of the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. And according to a salesperson the PS2 version is significantly outselling those on next-gen consoles in India at least simply because it costs lesser and more people have PS2s. Its graphics may seem jaded, and online gaming is impossible, but it still delivers a very respectable dollop for your dollar! Which is exactly why we got ourselves a copy – we are not leaving our PS2 yet.
