Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 line up has been much maligned for its slowness to update to new Android versions with the X10 line up just receiving an update to Android 2.1. This, when the rest of the Android fraternity is thinking of jumping to Android 2.3 isn’t really something to be excited about. That however, isn’t stopping Sony Ericsson from coming up with new additions to the Xperia Lineup, it seems.
Folks over at the Unofficial Xperia X10 blog have come across a large screened Android powered handset. Codenamed the Anzu, this phone comes with a 4.3 inch display and is likely to come laden with Android 2.3, Gingerbread when released. This phone would be the Sony Ericsson flagship device when launched with support for HDMI output as well. The phone is also slated to be incredibly thin and is likely to make its debut sometime in Q1, 2011. The phone in its current form is running Android 2.1 with kernel version 2.6.29.
Looking at the image, the phone looks quite authentic. Lets hope Sony Ericsson manages to release this device on time and with Gingerbread as it is being told now. Given Sony Ericsson’s track record with previous Xperia X Series handsets, do you trust Sony Ericsson to release this one on time?
