Looks like Micromax is all set to launch yet another low cost, Dual SIM Android handset in India. Called the Micromax A47, this hitherto unheard of device has appeared on the Export/Import directory Zauba – which has for over the past few weeks become a source for impending mobile phone launches in India. Micromax is importing over 19,000 units of the A47 to India, according to data from Zauba. They are also importing two handsets for research and development purpose and a few other dummy handsets, it seems.
Little is known about the handset apart from the fact that it boasts of a 4 inch (3.97 actually) display and that it is Dual SIM capable. We presume that this would come with an entry level dual core processor as well as Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The handset has been valued at Rs. 2633 per unit which even if we add taxes and stuff might not exceed the Rs.3,500 mark.
It would be interesting to see when Micromax goes ahead and officially launches this one. Videocon incidentally has a handset bearing the same model number which currently retails for Rs.4,990. In the past, Zauba has revealed two handsets that have come in to India for testing purposes. These include the Samsung SM W750V and the Nokia RM 977.
