Acer has launched its 8-inch tablet – the Windows 8.1 toting Iconia W4 in India. The successor to the Iconia W3, this device comes in two capacity options– 32 GB and 64 GB. The internal memory can be expanded further using 32 GB cards.
The 8 inch display is an IPS panel with a resolution of 1280*800 pixels. Powered by Intel’s 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3740 ‘Bay Trail-T’ processor, the device also packs in 2GB of RAM. There is a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the software front we might as well add that it comes loaded with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 that should take care of most of your “official” needs.
Connectivity options include Micro-USB, Micro-HDMI and microSD slot. Acer will also bundle a keyboard accessory that also transforms in to a foldable cover cum table. At 540 grams and 11.35 mm thick, this one should not be that heavy to carry around.
