It looks like the engineers at Samsung are already hard at work after the recent successful launch of the Galaxy Note 5 last month. The next flagship of Samsung is expected to be the Galaxy S7 and would succeed the Galaxy S6. Usually the Galaxy S flagship is announced around February in the new year and looks like Samsung is already hard at work on their new device with the first set of information about the Galaxy S7 appearing online.
The information of the phone is leaked in the form of an AnTuTu benchmarking app screenshot. The screenshot mentions that the Galaxy S7 will feature a 5.7 inch QHD display and will come with a monster 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. Samsung is expected to still go ahead with a 16 MP camera on the back like the S6 and a 5 MP front facing snapper. In the leaked screenshot, the phone is running Android 5.1.1 out of the box.
It has been widely reported that Samsung will be announcing the S7 in two different variants, one being a 5.2 inch Full HD device while the other is the 5.7 inch display which was leaked out in the benchmark test. It was also leaked via the screenshot that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will run Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 out of the box, though we are certain there would be an Exynos variant of the device too. Internally, Samsung are calling the S7, ‘Project Lucky’ because of the lucky omen that the number 7 is considered.
We would obviously take the news with a pinch of salt as we are not sure about the authenticity of the source or that of the screenshot in itself. We are sure that there would be more coverage around the S7 as the launch date comes closer of the device.
