Bitten by innovation by other players in the market and the resultant slipping market share, Nokia finally seems to be working on something disruptively innovative themselves.
As it seems, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 weren’t the only phones Nokia had with them to display at the Nokia World, they also had this very interesting device with a flexible interactive screen.
This future device from Nokia has interesting control features which involves bending and twisting the screen to interact with the phone. You need to bend the phone on the sides to scroll through the menu options. You just need to flex the screen inwards to exit an app or flex it outwards to enter an app or to zoom images.
Though the technology seems a bit different and might take a little getting used to, it is certainly very interesting nonetheless. Well, Nokia also intends to add touch functionality to the screen sometime in the future to make it more interactive and user friendly.
It would give the users an option to control the device either by flexing the screen on the device or by simply using the touch controls. Must admit, flexible controls will be a useful feature and much appreciated in countries where people are used to wearing gloves to protect their hands from cold.
