HTC Aiming To Sell 60 Million Phones In 2011

HTC is aiming to sell as many as 60 million handsets in the year according to a report in Digitimes. The company as you might be aware has had a very good run selling Windows Phone and Android based smartphones in the past year and is looking forward to a bullish 2011. With a slew of Android and Windows Phone based launches expected in 2011, HTC might just reach its target sales figuresHowever, it is pertinent to note that HTC is not known to make and sell non smartphones – which still form a major chunk of the sales of the major handset makers like Nokia and Samsung. HTC’s first salvo at a non smartphone device, the contradictorily named HTC Smart did not exactly set the sales charts on fire. The Qualcomm Brew based phone was launched in India as well under the sub 10k price range back in March 2010.

HTC is reported to have revealed its roadmap for 2011 at a recent “HTC executives only” event in Taiwan recently. Hopefully, the company also has a few non smartphohes under its belt so that the 60 million target becomes achievable.
