HTC has been quite a buzz this year. Earlier at the CES in January, it had launched HTC Desire 320. And later in January, it announced the much awaited HTC Desire 826 in the Chinese markets. Apart from these devices, HTC extended its Desire family of smartphones by launching a revamped device as Desire 816G and Desire 626. By launching these devices, HTC has made it clear that is will be focusing on its Desire range of devices. Following the same suit, HTC Desire family has a latest entrant as HTC Desire 820s. Although this device was earlier launched in November 2014, there were no details revealed related to availability and pricing.
This devices comes as a successor to HTC Desire 820. HTC Desire 820s was launched on Thursday (12th March) and is priced at INR 25,500. Considering the design parameters, Desire 820s follows the conventional style of HTC smartphones with rounded corners and coloured edge. It shares almost same specification details like its predecessor Desire 820. A major change is imparted in the SoC section. Instead of Snapdragon 615, Desire 820s holds a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocking at 1.7GHz. It is coupled with 2GB RAM. For handling graphics, it is tagged with Mali760 GPU.
It sports 5.5-inch screen 720p screen. The device is a dual-SIM support type. Apart from this, it is also enable to support 4G LTE networks for both the SIM cards. Just like the Desire 820, Desire 820s too comes equipped with Android KitKat 4.4.4 OS. Desire 820s also comes with HTC Sense and HTC BlinkFeed to enhance the user experience for the device. For providing rich multimedia experience, it houses dual front-facing BoomSound speakers.
HTC Desire 820s comes with a 13MP rear snapper equipped with a LED flash and the front snapper reads to be 8MP type. This would certainly raise the bar when it comes to selfie centred smartphones. With an inbuilt storage capacity of 16GB, the memory unit can further be boosted up to 128GB. Apart from 4G LTE support, connectivity features of the device remains the same like Desire 820. These include WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPRS/EDGE, A-GPS. It is powered by a 2600mAh battery. HTC claims it to stand tall for about 12 hours of 3G talk-time.
