If you were one of the many Indians looking forward to getting yourself a nice, powerful, dual core Android handset, your options will soon expand to one more handset in the form of the recently announced HTC Sensation. Also, if you were in a cave for the past week or so, let us give you a refresher course on the Sensation – a phone that was announced a few days ago.The Sensation is going to be HTC’s flagship Android device by the looks of it. The specs of the phone would have looked out of the world had the announced it before the Samsung Galaxy S II – but it still is earth shattering.
We start with the dual core processor. The Sensation gets a 1.2 GHz snapdragon, believed to be the same as the one found running inside HP’s TouchPad. Then there’s 768 MB of RAM and 1 GB of Internal Memory. The display measures 4.3 inches across and shows off stuff at a resolution of 960*540. The size of the display also puts it just within the boundaries of smartphone territory. Any larger, and we would have called it a small tablet.
Anyway, the Indian launch is expected to happen by the end of May. That’s about the same time the Galaxy S II is expected to land here. If you’re the impatient kind, the LG Optimus 2X is already here to feed your dual core fantasies.
The question is, are you prepared to wait for yet another month?
