Micromax has entered the league of giants with a bang. It has seen immense success with the Canvas 2 A110 and today the newly launched Canvas HD A116 goes out of stock in under one hour. Let’s have a look at the phone’s overview.
The Dual-SIM phone comes with a 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor and 1 GB RAM running on the Android 4.2 – Jelly Bean. It has improved it’s display from it’s predecessor though the screen size is the same, 5 inches with 1280 x 720p with IPS. The 8 MP Camera gives good quality clicks and is capable of 720p HD video recording. The phone also has a secondary front camera of 2 Megapixels. The phone has great specs on board, however performance is yet to be tested.
As promised, Micromax started the sale of this amazing phone at 12AM on 14th February with a price tag of Rs. 13,990 on Snapdeal. With a promise of delivering in 5 days, the phone is already out of stock. Actually, the stock was sold out in less than an hour after launch.

The Canvas 2 has an irregular supply, making it tough to find in the stores and now this goes out of stock. All this buzz makes me think that Micromax might need to increase it’s manufacturing capability very soon or perhaps just great marketing strategy. We have seen long queues for Apple, Nexus getting sold out in the first few hours but a Micromax phone selling that fast is tough to digest. What are your views on this?
