We all know that Nokia is planning to update its beleaguered Symbian OS with a fresh new update in the weeks to come. The new update was thought to mostly concentrate on the UI part of the OS which has virtually remained unchanged since the early days of Symbian. In a leaked video, 3 UK has shown off glimpses of a new UI running on Nokia’s upcoming phone – the X7. This one however doesn’t seem to be the fully modified UI that is expected with the PR3 update we talked about earlier.
Looking at the Video (which has been since then yanked off YouTube and made private) it doesn’t seem much different from the Symbian^3 UI of today. There might be subtle touches here and there but the overall package does look similar. Of course, we would reserve our judgments only after we get a hands on of the new UI.
Anyway, you might want to take a look at it on Engadget where they managed to save one video just before it was pulled.
This is not the NEW Symbian UI which Nokia had promised. The new UI is going to be released with PR3. PR2 was only supposed to bring portrait qwerty, new browser ui and some ui tweaks. Had expected better.
