A few weeks after their official announcement, Nokia has announced the launch of its new low cost, affordable handsets, the 100 and 101 here in India. Both the devices pack in color displays and will be positioned above the Nokia 1208 which sells for a sub Rs.1000 price tag in the country. The latter though comes with a monochrome display.
We had detailed the features on both the phones at the time of their announcement – so are not going in to details this time round. What we didn’t inform last time was the fact that the phones would come preloaded with Nokia Life Tools and Nokia Money – both being software intended for emerging economies.
In India, the phones would come with an offer from Airtel – which will provide customers with 100 minutes of free Airtel to Airtel talk time for the first month. Users would also get 400 national and local SMS free every month.
As for prices, the Nokia 101 will be available in India in the next few weeks at INR 1699/-. The phone will come in Black and Red colors. As for the Nokia 100, it would be available in India starting October for INR 1399/-.
