Nokia’s upcoming flagship business phone, the E7 would be soon arriving on select markets across the globe – Nokia revealed today. The first shipments will start later this week and the device would be available in more markets in the weeks to come. The E7 is a feature packed smartphone complete with a massive 4 inch display and a barrage of features. The screen boasts of Clear Black Technology which made its debut with the Nokia C7 back in 2010. The phone looks like a larger screened version of the N8 from a distance – but the size difference becomes obvious when you get up close. As expected from an E Series device, the E7 offers full support for all mail services. Users can create, edit and share office documents and view PDF files with Adobe Reader. It also supports VPN.
On the hardware front, there is an 8 megapixel camera on board which for an “office” phone is quite sufficient. t can also capture videos at 720p. It also gets dual LED flash for low light photography. Like the N8, there is HDMI connectivity and support for the USB on the go feature on the E7 as well.
A major grouse for storage freaks would be the fact that you cannot expand the 16 GB of internal memory using memory cards. Oh and Lest I forget, the E7 also has a nice, expansive and backlit hardware QWERTY keypad which should provide endless hours of typing joy.
The E7 measures 123.7 x 62.4 x 13.6mm and is on the heavier side – tipping the scales at 176g. The battery is rated for up to five hours talk-time over WCDMA (more over GSM) and 430 hours standby. It offers pentaband communications for international travellers, 3G data rates up to 10.2 Mbps over HSDPA and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.
Nokia has also put up a nice video which details the design ideas that went behind the making of the E7
Let’s all hope this one is India bound very soon!
