It was just yesterday that the first images (and video) of Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset were revealed. The design of this handset was based on that of the recently announced MeeGo powered N9. Now, if we are to believe some images posted on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Nokia did have at least one N9 like device that actually ran Android. This we believe might be one of those early prototypes developed at the time when Nokia did consider hopping on to the Android bandwagon.
And it is not secret that Elop himself had admitted that the company had considered all options before choosing Windows Phone 7 to be its best option. Anyway, the veracity of the images here is still questionable. However, this is coming from the same guy who posted images of the Windows Phone based Sea Ray prototype way back in May. So, it is likely that the person who posted these images did have a close Nokia connection.
Anyway, you can feast on these images which might be the best example of “what could have been” had Nokia opted for Android.
