After doing a launch event almost two weeks ago, Nokia India has finally bought its flagship Windows Phone handset, the Lumia 1020 to the country. Also famous for being the successor too the Nokia PureView 808 in terms of its camera abilities, the Lumia 1020 boasts of a 41 megapixel sensor and is known to capture some truly stunning photographs. The Nokia Lumia 1020 has been made available across stores in India starting 11th October. The phone will be made available in yellow, white and black colors and has been priced at Rs. 49999/-. Nokia will offer, in association with New India Assurance, a year-long complimentary insurance cover at all leading stores.Since the price is prohibitive at this point of time, consumers will also have the option of purchasing the device on a 6 month EMI payment plan. This is through select banks only. In India, as an early bird offer, Nokia is offering premium apps worth Rs. 1000/- for free to its consumers from the Windows Phone Store. This AppStore currently has over 165,000 apps. Nokia has also tied up with Vodafone to offer 2GB of 3G data per month for 2 months. All 1020 users would also be entitled for dedicated support from trained Lumia 1020 “experts” from Nokia Careline.
