Nokia has taken covers off its newest Windows Phone powered handset, the Lumia 620. The much rumoured handset has just become the newest member of the Lumia family and would also be the most affordable amongst the current lot of Windows Phone 8 powered devices.
The Lumia 620, as you might have already guessed has been positioned under the Lumia 820 and is clearly targeted at the youngster. Nokia has come up with a new manufacturing process called “dual shot” to endow the polycarbonate cover of the phone with a unique colour blend that will make the handset stand out from the rest. Like the 820, the 620 would also support interchangeable shells and with seven shells to choose from you won’t be hard pressed for choice.
The Lumia 620 boasts of a 3.8 inch display with a resolution of 800*480 pixels. It also packs in of Nokia’s ClearBlack Technology which will certainly enhance the readability of the device. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1Ghz mated with 512 MB of RAM which is adequate for this mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset. Internal memory is an adequate 8 Gb which you can increase further using microSD cards.
Taking care of the imaging bit is a 5 megapixel camera at the rear. It can double up as an HD camcorder with the ability to shoot videos on 720P quality. For those of you obsessed with video calling, there is a front camera as well. Connectivity options are aplenty with the device sully supporting Wi-Fi b/g/n, HSDPA, EDGE, USB and NFC standards. There is Bluetooth thrown in as well.
The phone would also offer 7 GB of free space to the owner and comes loaded with Nokia Maps and Microsoft Office. Apart from these, Nokia Drive and Nokia City Lens too make their presence felt.
The Lumia 620 would go on sale early next year and is expected to be priced at $249 – without taxes or operator subsidies.
