Nokia is all set to launch the Lumia 800 (and 710) with Windows Phone 7 in India and Apple is out with the iPhone 4S. Both devices sport a 8MP camera. While the Lumia manages 720p video recording, the 4S does 1080p, we decided to test the Lumia 800’s camera against the Apple iPhone 4 which sports a 5MP camera with 720p video capability.
Nokia 800 features a Carl Zeiss lens and Espoo does have a track record of some impressive camera phones, it seems that Lumia is yet to hit optimal levels. You can notice the issue with color balance on indoor shots when compares to the iPhone 4 and the video comparison in low light isn’t much in favor of Lumia either. Outdoor photos in bright lighting do get better though. Here, are the pictures from Lumia 800 and iPhone 4 side by side. Compare!

Outdoor Photos
The outdoor photos from the Lumia 800 look better than the iPhone 4 in some cases. In the second photo below you would notice that the color from the Lumia is better, on the first photo the iPhone 4 seems to do a bit better with the help of HDR (the second photo from the iPhone isn’t HDR).
