Apple has explored a great niche with the App Store and are threatening the handheld gaming market with the iOS based platforms. Given the potential that gaming has in the handheld space, its a no brainer today that cellphones are taking over the market as your PMP and gaming device. Now here is an interesting bit on how something really innovative was tried upon by Nokia and Nintendo back in early 2000s. According to recent reports Nintendo actually worked upon a gaming phone with Nokia that was developed in its R&D centre in Japan. However the same didn’t see the day of light (as we know).
Wonder if Nintendo is looking to get its handheld expertise on a mobile device given the shift in market? Perhaps with Nokia again… apparently both these cos need each other unless anyone really pulls out a rabbit from their hat in this competitive market.
