Nokia has officially launched its newest low end, QWERTY laden S40 handset, the X2-01 in India. The phone, first seen back in November 2010 was announced along with another low end handset, the C2-01. The X2-01 features a largish 2.4 inch display, support for EDGE, a VGA rear camera, support for FM Radio, a decent web browser and a host of Ovi services built in.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth and USB. The phone also gets a Memory card slot for taking in micro SD cards. Music aficionados need not worry because the phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
The X2-01 would make a very good entry level handset for the burgeoning middle class in India. Incidentally, even before the phone was “officially” launched, it was available in India since the past few weeks.
The official price of the phone is Rs.4,459 INR and is available in a barrage of colors that include black, white, red, pink and blue. There are reports of the phone going below the 3k mark in some places. Note that this is unconfirmed though!
