Nvidia Promises Tablets With Tegra 2, Flash Player 10.1 & Android 2.2!

Adobe has just announced the general availability of Flash Player 10.1 and the flood of Flash enabled mobile devices that was expected in 2H 2010 officially gets a green light. We have seen a few crude prototypes of Android based tablets running the Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, but the final versions of these are yet to be seen. Nvidia has confirmed that they worked closely with Adobe to ensure full hardware acceleration on Flash 10.1 for handhelds and with the latest build of Android (2.2 aka Froyo) being officially out, we are left with a promise of some exciting tablet products (smartphones aswell!).

Here is what Nvidia’s Neil Trevett said: We’re looking forward to launching mobile devices with breakthrough performance using Tegra, Flash Player 10.1 and Android 2.2 so stay tuned! I really hope the guys over at Notion Ink are making the most of this. The wait for an iPad killer just got a little more interesting (though its not the first time that Nvidia has spoken of its poweress).
