Panasonic today launched a budget smartphone in India named the T31. The Panasonic T31 is an Android powered device and runs on Android 4.2.2 JellyBean. The rest of the features include a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels resolution) display, a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and a 512 MB of RAM. It gets 4 GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards of up to 32 GB for expandable storage.
At the rear, it sports a 3.2 megapixel camera along with a VGA camera at the front. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) phone. The device gets its juice from the 1300 mAh battery and is available in two colour variants, Bluish Black and pure White.
The Panasonic T31 is priced at Rs 7,990/-
The Japanese electronics giant earlier in the year made its debut in the Android ecosystem with P51. Recently they expanded its Android portfolio with P11, T21 and T11 in India.
With the T31, Panasonic are clearly attempting to reach the larger segment of the market with low pricing where giants like Samsung are dominant along with Indian manufacturers like Xolo, Micromax and Karbonn. With so many competitors already in the arena, it remains to be seen whether Panasonic will make any impact.
