Move over the MacBook Air! Samsung is here to usurp your crown of selling the thinnest notebook ever in India by announcing its latest Series 9 notebook in the country. The Series 9 was first showcased at the CES earlier this year and has been critically acclaimed worldwide for its super performance and miniature size. The Series 9 notebook weighs just 1.31 kg and is just 16.3 mm thick (or thin). It is made of something known as Duralumin which Samsung says is twice as strong as aluminium.
The notebook has a 13 inch display that boasts of 400 nits of brightness. This is almost twice as bright as conventional displays. The display is also capable of displaying 16 million colors and boasts of a super contrast ratio of 1300:1. The screen resolution is the notebook standard 1366?*768 which should look decent on a 13 inch screen.
Under the hood, it is powered by a second generation Core i5 processor that should be faster than then the Core 2 Duo found on the MacBook Air. Storage is taken care of by the 128 GB SSD. The Lithium Polymer battery offers up to 7 hours of battery life.
The Series 9 has been priced at Rs.1,00,990 which is well above the pricing of the highest priced MacBook Air. Will that put you off from getting this beauty?
