Samsung Galaxy S II India Launch On June 3 For Vodafone Users, In Stores Starting June 9

The wait is finally over! Samsung has finally bought its flagship, dual core Android superphone, the mighty Galaxy S II to India. The phone was officially unveiled in India earlier today at Delhi and would be made available for you and me starting  June 3, 2011. It would be initially available exclusively for Vodafone customers. Starting June 9, the phone would be available in stores across India. We had reported earlier about the phones’ possible launch today.

Now, if you are wondering what the fuss is all about regarding this phone, take a look at the specs and decide for yourselves. How does a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display coupled with a dual core screamer of a processor sound to you? Then there is the 1GB worth of RAM that should make multitasking a childs play. Lest we forget, we also have the 8 megapixel shooter at the back. This can also double up as your full HD camcorder as and when required. For video calling freaks, the 1.3 megapixel front cam should suffice. On the software scheme of things, it runs Androiod 2.3.3 and would be upgradeable to newer versions as soon as they arrive.

The phone has been priced at Rs. 32,890 which puts it on par with handsets like the Xperia Arc, the LG Optimus 2X and the  Xperia Play. Note that this price is for the 16 GB version. Samsung has confirmed that the 32 GB version is not on the offing here in India.  The phone can be pre-ordered by making an upfront payment of Rs.1000.

So, how many of you would be amongst the early adopters and get this one as soon as it is launched next week?
