Samsung Omnia 7 Press Shots Out. Already

Looks like Samsung can’t wait to release their Windows Phone 7 handsets! What else could explain Samsung Russia posting images and spec details of the Omnia 7 (GT-I8700) on their website long before the commencement of the event where these handsets were to be formally announced?

The Omnia 7 has an impressive spec-sheet that runs in pages. Notable stuff includes the 4 inch AMOLED display and the processor – which strangely, happens to be a Snapdragon. We wonder what stopped Samsung from using their own Hummingbird processor (seen on the Wave and the Galaxy S) on the Omnia 7.

Other notable bits include the 5 megapixel camera, (auto focus), Bluetooth 2.1 (wonder why they chose to skip 3.0 when quite a few others do support it already). It can also capture videos in HD and has 8GB of internal memory, Now, if this is not expandable in nature, we have a slight problem in hand.

The phone has a 1500mAH battery – that should power it for an entire day of normal usage.

The Omnia 7 is expected to be announced in the Windows Phone 7 event scheduled to be held a few minutes from now. Of course we’d be covering that too in detail.
