Skype has just announced the launch of a new version of its app for Symbian devices. The new version apart from adding a few features also adds support for new Symbian^3 devices including the Nokia N8, C7 and E5.

According to the entry on the Skype blog, the new version of the app also adds Skype’s SILK high quality audio codec which according to Skype, assures better call quality even on a low bandwidth connection. The app has also been scaled up to fit larger screened devices.

Apart from these changes, it also gets various interface improvements, making it easier to add contacts, navigate, add a photo to your profile and set your mood message.
