Surprise surprise! Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 which we all thought had died an infamous death has been revived by the company. The phone was largely thought to have received its last official update when it was updated to Android 2.1 not long ago. With it not even getting Froyo, most people started concentrating on the newer handsets from the company including the Xperia Play, the Arc, the Neo and the Pro. But in a reversal of its decision, Sony Ericsson has now promised an update that would update the old workhorse to the newest version of Android!
The update is expected to arrive by the end of Q2, 2011 which might be a tad late for some but the important fact is that it indeed is coming. The update will not be available over the air and would require PC connectivity. The Android 2.3 update will also mean that the phone would completely skip Froyo.
Now, all we need to wait for is an official update from Sony Ericsson saying they have released the update.
