Wynncom, a new entry in the Indian Cell Phone Market

A new name has been added to the already existing long list of Indian Phone Manufacturers. Wynncom owned by the SAR Group co-founded by Rakesh Malhotra (Chairman), Arvind Vohra (MD) and Navneet Kapoor (Director) launched 7 dual-sim phones (GSM+GSM). These affordable mobile phones were unveiled by Saif Ali Khan (Brand Ambassador for Wynncom) on Friday the 21st at Hotel Trident last week in Mumbai.

Starting with a price range of Rs. 1,500 to Rs.5,000 with the Y10 as the basic model and the top model being the Y50 being a rip-off of the Blackberry Bold, something every other Indian (or Chinese I should say) manufacturer is doing. Seems the low-end market is gungho over the pricing than the quality which every other manufacturer is cashing on. Now; these devices aren’t expected to battle it with the more popular Windows or Android phones but will undoubtedly play a crucial role towards the base of the pyramid (read low-end segment and rural market) where companies like Micromax have already captured a massive chunk of them
