“Our iPad 2 inventory has been depleted and we apologize for failing to provide enough supplies due to the product’s global supply shortages,” SK Telecom said in an update posted on its website. While the sales figures of the number of iPad 2’s sold has not been revealed yet, it is estimated that in the quarter that ended in March at least 5 million iPads were sold.

This was sightly lesser than the projected figure of 6 million. The lesser than expected sales were mostly because of shortage of supplies owing to the earthqake in Japan.
