Xiaomi debuted the Mi 11 Ultra smartphone globally in March. Dubbed as ‘The SuperPhone’ it arrived in India last month. It is Xiaomi’s flagship offering with top-of-the-line specifications. The Mi 11 Ultra competes against the likes of the OnePlus 9 Pro, iPhone 12, Galaxy S21 Plus and other smartphones in the sub-Rs 70,000 price bracket.

Superior display along with a second screen
The Mi 11 Ultra sports a 6.81-inch sAMOLED display with a quad-curved screen bearing a WQHD+ resolution. It is loaded with various display features like 1,700 nits peak brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, MEMC, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The smartphone comes with a 120Hz Intelligent AdaptiveSync refresh rate with four modes including 30, 60, 90 and 120Hz. The display on the Mi 11 Ultra is also capable of producing 1 billion+ colours as it features a 10-bit panel.
The striking feature on the Mi 11 Ultra is its second screen located on the elongated rectangular rear camera module. The display measures 1.1-inches with an AMOLED panel. It can be utilised for showing information, notifications, music control and as a selfie viewfinder.
Photography prowess
The Mi 11 Ultra’s gigantic camera module houses three sensors including a 50MP Truepixel Custom GN2 sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide unit and a 48MP telephoto lens. Xiaomi says that the Mi 11 Ultra is the world’s first phone with Dual Pixel Pro technology for fast autofocus. The smartphone is capable of shooting pictures between 12mm to 120mm focal lengths. The telephoto periscope sensor supports 120x AI super zoom and 5x optical zoom. All three camera sensors are capable of shooting 8K videos.
On the front, the Mi 11 Ultra features a 20MP selfie camera.
Flagship hardware
Under the hood, the Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor with an integrated X60 modem for 5G connectivity. The chipset is paired with Adreno 660 GPU. The smartphone packs 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and offers 256GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The Mi 11 Ultra draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 67W wired and wireless charging. It runs on MIUI 12 based Android 11 out of the box.
Other features
The Mi 11 Ultra is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus against accidental damage and scratches. It is also IP68-rated water and dust resistant. The smartphone is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. On the audio front, the device comes with stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon. Connectivity options on the Mi 11 Ultra include 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and NavIC.
