The usually very trustworthy folks from over at 9to5Mac is reporting an interesting little development. According to their sources, the fruit themed toymaker from Cupertino is readying the launch of a new model of the iPad. Now, we know that it is a tad too early for Apple to launch a completely new iPad model – so this one is not actually a new model ground up. In fact, the only thing that seems to have changed would be its internal storage capacity.
You might be already aware that the iPad is currently available in three storage capacity options – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. This rumored new version will get a bump in the storage capacity with the highest end variant getting a memory bump to 128 GB. Apple is known to internally call the 16, 32 and 64 GB versions, “Good”, “Better” and the “Best”. The soon to arrive 128 GB version seems to be already been nicknamed “Ultimate” – if we are to believe sources.
Also to be noted is that this new iPad version would come in both black and white, as well as Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi+cellular variants – just like the norm has been with the other models. Anyway, it is rather strange that news of this upgraded iPad is coming now because we have been hearing about Apple planning to refresh the iPad line up in the not too distant future.
So, how many of you plan to get hold of this high capacity iPad if ever this is released? I am sure many of you might be interested!
