Apple has issued press invites for an event that the company will hold to (most probably) launch the new iPad line-up. This much speculated and talked about event was initially rumored to be held on October 16. Now we know that the predictions were off by only a week. Apple’s invitation to bloggers reveal pretty much nothing except for the location – which happens to be the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, San Francisco. This location has been witness to many past Apple events. Apple’s invite for the event has a text which reads:
“We still have a lot to cover”
The event is widely speculated to be an all iPad affair with Apple likely to come up with the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2. As the norm is, we have already been through the usual set of rumors related to the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini. While the former is expected to be faster, leaner and thinner, the iPad Mini might get a display resolution bump to retina levels. The current display resolution of the iPad Mini falls way short of its competition and to say that Apple desperately needs an update on that front would be an understatement
There is also however talk about the possibility of Apple revealing a bunch of Macs at the event. Then there is of course the possibility of the new Mac OS X Mavericks being detailed. But then, all eyes are tuned in for the new iPads.
In case you are considering an iPad for yourselves, it might be a good idea to stall your purchase now. Apart from the older iPads getting a price drop, you never know new features you might see with the next generation tablets from Apple!
