Yes, we all love Apple and wish to own the iPhone at some point in time. And as per the recent survey called the “Global Telecom Equipment Analyser” report by analysts at an investment bank UBS, iPhone users are the most satisfied bunch of customers and as high as 89% of the Apple iPhone users plan to stick with the brand while buying their next smartphone.
UBS conducted the survey by interviewing 515 high end smartphone users which also included senior executives from leading cellular networks in Western Europe and North America. With Apple iPhone 5 around the corner the news is a shot in the arm for them. Though Apple has the highest retention rate its contemporaries do not enjoy similar rates with the Taiwan based HTC at second best, registering a distant 39% retention rate.
At third is RIM, which showed a retention rate of 33% a remarkable 50% drop from the 66% it had registered in a similar UBS survey about 18 months ago. Looks like the troubles of RIM just refuse to cease. Samsung at 28% and Motorola at 25% consist of the top five in the survey.
On the platform front Google’s Android is also considerably behind Apple’s iOS at 60% retention rate and around 31% Android users showing a willingness to move onto the iPhone as their next smartphone.
