The Sony PSP brigade and Nintendo DS fan club might disagree, but the iPhone and iPod touch are rapidly turning into full-fledged mobile gaming platforms, thanks to the rash of games available on the iTunes App Store. And the latest title that is set to get the iPhone/iPod touch treatment is the legendary hack and slashes action Devil May Cry series. As per information trickling through a variety of sources, Capcom is working on a version of the game for the iPod touch and iPhone.
Titled Devil May Cry 4: Refrain, the game will see gamers step into the shoes of Nero, rather than Dante (the standard main character) and hack and slash their way through masses of adversaries over ten levels. Of course, Nero will have the standard large sword that has become an icon of the series and will be able, to execute some thrilling and spectacular attack combos. And in terms of graphics, the game is expected to live up to its staggeringly spectacular (often over the top) visual tradition. We have no concrete dates, but the game is expected in the App Store towards the end of the month at a price that is expected to be in the vicinity of $6.99 (we are still hoping for a free version, being the eternal optimists that we are).
Of course, our main concern is going to be how Capcom translates the button mashing regimen of the game into a touchscreen-oriented one. We will discover in a few weeks. Meanwhile, we are booking our place in the download queue.
This is great, actually I’m one of the closest fan of this game. Happy to hear it, when they introduce it to be on my fav phone too.
