While we are holding a little longer to pre-oder our iPhone 4 from US (the unlocked UK version is attracting us), it seems that the millions (ok exaggerated) of us looking to pre-order a iPhone 4th Gen using the ATT/Apple Store site are stuck with a bug / server load on AT&T’s part. We already know that the White iPhone 4, isn’t coming immediately and Apple is only offering the Black version to order for now.
Given the high demand, the only way to ensure that you get the iPhone 4 on the launch day, i.e. 24th June, seems to be a store pickup. So reserve your iPhone 4 for a store pickup on 24th June using the App Store app on the iPhone (or try Apple.com) and get into the que on the launch date!
Do let us know if the online pre-order worked for you?
It took me 5 hours and a lot of clicking fo the refresh button but I finally got a confirmation number. AT&T does not state when it will be delivered though.
Well if you reserve and collect in store it doesn’t guarantee you a iPhone 4, it just means if they have one in stock and you’ve reserved you’ll get one, but if they’ve all gone by the time you get there, then you don’t get one!!!
I tried from 9am until 12.40pm (GMT) to pre-order and finally managed at 12.40pm! It was a very productive day at work!
@rob, then whats the difference in just going to the store and reserving?
