We have learned from one of our reliable sources that the Apple iPhone 5 is slated to be released on the 5th of November in India. The source adds that the delay in the launch of the iPhone 5 is caused due to the unavailability of the Nano SIM cards which are supposedly imported from all the operators in India from a single manufacturer in China. And hence it will take at least a month for the shortage situation to ease out.
Our source has also confirmed that the iPhone 5 would be launched with the major carriers this year, although we could not get a confirmation on the launch in open market as claimed by BGR India. We have not been able to confirm the pricing of the specific models, but a rough price range of approx. Rs. 48,000 to Rs. 60,000 for the three versions, i.e. 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB respectively.
iPhone 5 has already witnessed a record breaking 2 million pre-orders within 24 hours and the social media sites are full of images of people queuing up in front of Apple stores across the globe since midnight yesterday for the launch of the iPhone 5 today.
We know that iPhone is usually launched on Thursday / Friday, but our source is still confident on the date.
