Friends over at AndroidOS.in seems to have caught wind of some good news for all you folks out there who are looking for more options in the low cost Android OS based segment. There have been a slew of Android phone launches in the Rs. 8000 to 13,000 segment of late and it seems Huawei, the Chinese cellphone major too is planning to enter the segment. They are starting off with its low cost Android handset, the Ideos here in India.
The device, which was first seen at the IFA in Germany, has been displayed at the ongoing Telecom 2010 expo and company officials there have divulged that the Ideos could be on sale in India this very month.
The Ideos is Huawei’s first Android 2.2 laden device and is likely to be priced at around the Rs.8000 mark. The device is quite a feature packed one with features like a 2.8-inch capacitive display and a decent 528Mhz processor. There is a 3.2MP camera at the rear for your small time imaging needs. It supports microSD cards for memory expansion. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and Wlan. The phone gets the plan jane, stock Android UI which many users would appreciate.
So, here’s yet another addition to the ever growing list of low cost Android handsets. It’s slowly getting crowded here at the bottom, isn’t it?
