Now that iOS 4.3 is here the usual suspects are scourging the deep insides of the OS code to look for clues that may reveal features arriving on future Apple products – especially the iPhone 5. The latest find is that the iPhone 5 rumored to be coming later this year could sport a dual core A5 processor. This would be similar to the chip doing the number crunching in the just announced iPad 2. The possibility of the A5 processor making it to the iPhone 5 does sound logical to us. With most of Apple’s competitors – namely the high end Android handsets having moved on to dual core processors, it was only logical that Apple too had to make a similar move to remain contemporary.
Also, if we are to check the history with Apple devices, they have had a tradition of the same processor being used on multiple products. For example, the A4 processor was used on the iPhone 4, the iPad and the Apple TV. It would be logical for Apple to do the same with the iPhone 5 as well.
Anyway, this would remain a rumor until we hear about the iPhone 5 officially from Apple. We expect that to happen in the next few months. So watch this space!
