Indian mobile handset manufacturing companies have recently caught up pace in their attempts to target a wider range of users. Micromax is already the talk of the town with its Yu-Yureka Sale. To catch up with it, Lava Mobiles has launched online a couple of budget smartphones in India. The new two phones which Lava has announced are the Lava Iris 350 and the Lava Iris 470.
The Lava Iris 350 was launched last week with its listing on company’s website. Lava Iris 350 was priced at INR 3,499 on the company website and now it is available on e-commerce websites at INR 2,999. In this period, Lava launched the Iris 470 featuring improved specifications over the Iris 350. Lava Iris 470 is available on e-commerce websites for INR 4,399. Specifications of Iris 350 read as a dual-SIM enabled device running on Android KitKat 4.4.2. It has a screen size of 3.5-inch with HVGA TFT display and resolution of 320*480 pixels.
This smartphone is equipped with a 1GHz single core processor along with 256MB of RAM. The processor details remain unknown for now. Lava Iris 350 sports a 2MP rear camera with fixed focus. It is tagged along with a LED flash unit. The front camera is on 0.3MP type. Connectivity features enabled for the device are 3G support, GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth and microUSB. Internal memory capacity is of 512MB. Storage capacity can be increased up to 32GB using a microSD card. The model is powered by a 1400mAh battery. Lava claims the unit to be up for 12 hours of talktime and up to 244 hours on 2G standby. Users can buy a black colour variant of Iris 350 which is listed on eBay.
Similar to the Iris 350, the Lava Iris 470 too is a dual SIM support device. It runs on Android JellyBean 4.2.2. This smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch IPS display with FWVGA (480*854) resolution. Iris 470 is powered by a dual core processor (unspecified) running at 1.3GHz. RAM capacity reads to be of 512MB. Internal storage unit is of 4GB and the memory capacity can be boosted up to 32GB. Unlike the Iris 350, Iris 470 has better rear camera unit equipped. Primary camera is of 5MP auto-focus type with LED flash.
The secondary camera is the same of 0.3MP. Connectivity features of Lava Iris 470 is same as that of Iris 350. The battery compartment holds a 1650mAh battery. It is claimed to provide 17 hours and 10 hours of talktime on 2G and 3G connectivity respectively. Iris 470 too is available on e-Bay in Black colour.
With smartphone manufacturers trying to create devices with all the latest tech and best specifications, Lava has always tried to target users with budget restrictions. With Iris 350 and Iris 470 it intends to continue to do the same.
