Lenovo Launches A6000: The Cheapest 4G Phone In India

Chinese smartphone manufacture Lenovo has unveiled their A6000 in India today. The device is the cheapest 4G phone in India priced at Rs. 6,999. It will sell exclusively on Flipkart and the registrations will open at 6pm today itself. The phone has a 5 inch display with the resolution of 1280×720 pixels which takes the pixel density to a decent 294 PPI. It is packed with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. If you want more storage then you can expand it up to 32GB by using a microSD card.

The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor which is a 64 bit one. It is shipped with Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Lenovo’s Vibe UI 2.0 running over it. Lenovo has also guaranteed Android Lollipop update for the phone so the 64 bit chip will prove handy there. The rear camera has an 8 Megapixel sensor with LED flash and also sports a 2 Megapixel camera on the front. The battery has 2300mAh power and Lenovo claims talktime upto 22 hours on 2G and 13 hours on 3G.

The phone will compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G which costs Rs. 10,000. In the price range of the A6000, you can also buy the Huawei Holly or the Spice Dream Uno but these phones don’t have 4G. Recently, many smartphone manufacturers like Asus, Huawei, etc are launching phones at very lucrative prices in the Indian market. The price range from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 15,000 is very crucial for these manufacturers.

Lenovo too is targeting India as a big market. Last year they launched the Vibe Z2 Pro and the Vibe X2 in India. Both those phones were aggressively priced and were also exclusively available on Flipkart. Opting for an online only model helps companies sell the phone for a lower cost. They also opened their Smart Devices Connected Stores in India where users can get an hands on experience with their devices. If you want a 4G phone then this would be your best bet in terms of price. But Lenovo hasn’t released the best of phones in India so we cannot comment on the performance of this device till we use it.
