Almost two weeks after going for preorder, Nokia has officially announced the launch of its newest E-Series handset, the E6 in India. Along with the E6, the much awaited X7 too makes its India debut. Both these devices are based on Symbian and Nokia has promised to launch as many as 10 new Symbian handsets this very year.
The E6 is Nokia’s E Series successor to the famed E71 and E72 – both of which were highly successful corporate Symbian devices. The E6 betters the older model with the latest version of Symbian a much better, high resolution display and boasts even gets a touch screen display – a feature absent on its predecessors. As for the X7, the device comes to India after a week since it debuted in Taiwan, Back then we reported that it would be coming soon to India, most probably with the E6. That is what has happened. The X7, this will be Nokia’s flagship music centric X-Series device. The phone features a whacky design with jagged ends, a four inch display and of course, runs Symbian Anna. The X7 comes preloaded with games like Galaxy on Fire HD and Asphalt 5 HD. Users of the X also gets free access to other premium games available on the Ovi Store. The device has an 8 megapixel camera that should be good enough for your everyday photography.
The X7 has been priced at Rs. 22,829 in India.
Both devices are available on Nokia’s easy EMI options using which consumers can buy the devices on installment.
Along with the X7, Nokia has also announced the launch of the Nokia X7 Full Throttle Tournament, a mobile gaming contest in High Definition on the Nokia X7. It will commence from July 07 to August 07 at leading Nokia retail outlets in 8 cities across the country. Gaming freaks are invited to participate in the contest. The winners of the contest would win a sponsored trip and a ticket to the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore being held on September 25th this year.
