WhatsApp – the popular cross platfrom messsaging client has just announced the release of a new version of the software for iOS devices. The new update apart from adding a host of new features also marks the transition of the App as a free download. That said, new users who would sign up for the service would still need to pay the current price of $0.99 after they end their free one year trial. Existing users however will get to use the Application for free fr as long as they like.
The new update to WhatsApp for iOS also brings support for iCloud chat history backup and restore functionality. Users would now also be able to send multiple imgaes simultaneously. The most important feature addition to this version of WhatsApp is undeniably its ability to now back up chat data to your private iCloud account. You can restore them to your phone whenever you wish to. Until now, transferring Chat history from one device to another was a real pain in the you know what. That changes with this version of WhatsApp. Thankfully.
All you iOS users need to do to get the backup service up and running is to enable ‘Chat Backup’ found under the ‘WhatsApp settings” menu. After you do this, you can recover all the chats even after you performa rest on your phone. You can also install the backup to another device and all you need to do that is to have a valid Apple ID.
