Just when we thought that the WiFi only version of the iPad is no good, it seems that Apple is realizing this aswell. As many as 10 different Apple stores are reporting the iPad 3G version as out of stock. Its been just a week since the 3G iPad went on sale and even the Apple store online is giving the customers a 5-7 days waiting. Anyone willing to buy a 3G iPad is now being offered to sign up for Apple’s “notify me” service which would update them when the product is back in stock.
Some of my friends owning a iPad WiFi had already suggest last week that they would exchange it for a 3G version as soon as it goes on sale. And that makes quite a lot of sense to me as the iPad is a efficient mobile computer which people would love to browse the internet on the go. A WiFi only version leaves us to find ways to tether our mobile phone with the iPad. Given that Apple has delayed the international launch twice already, it would be interesting to see how they manage 6 different iPad SKUs across the globe!
