Apple’s strong bonding with AT&T is known to us, and even the iPad comes with a custom plan from ATT for unlimited data. However, the public demand for Apple to break ATT’s monopoly is pretty high. Apart from the new customer base that Apple can target with an iPhone on Verizon or T-Mobile (US) here is a reason to ditch AT&T together:
While Verizon has topped the charts in customer satisfaction, AT&T lies at the bottom of the list. ATT has constantly been criticized for poor coverage, and this is just another testimony of the fact that iPhone users hate ATT. Apparently Google has strong ties with Verizon and a lot of Android devices (including the most successful Motorola Droid) are on sale with Verizon. Apple would sure like to have that gap filled. But then, you never know what Steve thinks!
